About me

I offer tuition in English and Classical Civilisation. For Classical Civilisation students, I also offer tuition in Latin and Ancient Greek where this will help with the subject. I am available to tutor primary, secondary, Further Education and Bachelor`s degree students. I offer assistance with class work, homework, course work, dissertations, and examination preparation. My passion for English and Classical Civilisation, and my enjoyment of sharing my enthusiasm and knowledge with students are my motivations for tutoring. I feel that students benefit most - in their grades and interest in the subject - when they are guided by a tutor who shows genuine love for the subjects which they teach. My approach to teaching is centred on the student. My first step is to discuss with the student and (for younger students) parents or guardians to find out where the student excels, and where they require more encouragement and guidance. To gain a better understanding of where the student and I shall focus, I also look at the student`s class work and homework. Using this knowledge, I carefully tailor tuition to the interests, personality and strengths of the student. Especially for younger students, I find out what they enjoy in school and outside, so that I can make tuition sessions as fun as possible. I believe that good grades happen when students begin to enjoy the subject.

I am a Cambridge University Classics graduate, with two Master`s degrees. I have over four years` experience of creating and delivering excellent learning experiences when working in museums like the Science Museum, and Victoria and Albert Museum

I am flexible with my availability - but am especially free during evenings and weekdays.
