About me

I`m Scarlette, I became a qualified teacher in May 2017 after completing my PGCE course. I am also intending to undertake another Masters degree to expand my knowledge to pass on to students. I`m a dedicated teacher and believe that everyone can achieve with the right help and mindset I expect my students to work as hard as I do to achieve their goals. I tailor each tutor session to the individual student, using my experience and education to find the best teaching techniques for each this I find to be an important aspect as students have many different learning styles and will respond far better, and achieve much higher results with some styles and not others. My goal is to ensure that all my lessons are interesting, informative and engaging for the students as this has been shown to be the most effective way to learn.

I have experience teaching in both college, sixth form and secondary school (ages 11-18+) in the subjects English, Film, Media and History. I have been working most recently at Grammar School and sixth form in Halifax, where high standards of teaching are expected due to the school being rated Outstanding by Ofsted. Prior to this I have worked in at Wakefield college, as well as private tutoring through-out my time in university.

At present I am available most evenings and weekends.
